DIRECT TO GARMENT
- What is direct to garment (DTG)?
Direct to Garment Printing, DTG printing, is a process of printing graphics onto garments. Think of it as a giant printer, except rather than printing out on boring white paper, it’s printing your design on t-shirts instead!
DTG printing is a fairly new process that allows for a lot of variation compared to screen printing. Our printer uses CMYK water based inks that soaks into the garment and becomes apart of the shirt. That means there’s no chance for the graphic to crack, peel, or wash away over time. Which is perfect for printing full colored artworks or photos on t-shirts!
What are some of the benefits of your Direct to Garment Digital Printing?
We do not have setup charges or any screen fees.
- What kind of fabrics can be DTG printed?
100% Cotton, Hemp or Bamboo shirts will work best. We use water based inks and these types of fabrics absorb the ink very well.
The closet you are to 100% the better.
- Can you print on black and dark shirts?
Yes we can. We do have to pre-treat the garment and lay down a base color of white underneath the design. It does cost extra to use print on dark shirts because of the white ink; compared to when the shirt is light and we don’t have to use a white under base.
- What is the largest size you can print?
We can print up to 13.5" x 15.5"
- What file types do you accept?
We accept AI/PSD files, PNG and JPEG.
- Can I use an image from the web?
What can I do to make sure my print comes out the best?
Please make sure that the quality of the image or design is at least 300 DPI (dots per inch). This insures a high quality print.
- What happens if the graphic I give you is too poor to print?
We can try to find a better image but if we can’t we can try to rebuild it but that will result as a design fee.
- What is a design fee? How much will it cost?
